Complaints
Our policy is to respond to all enquiries promptly and courteously. We treat all complaints seriously and aim to reply to them within 20 working days. If we cannot do that, we will keep you informed of the progress we are making with your complaint. If we decide your complaint is justified we will apologise and explain how we intend to put the situation right.
If you have a complaint about the Commission you should write to the Chief Executive giving details of the complaint and your name and address, either by email to info@scotlawcom.gov.uk or to Scottish Law Commission, Parliament House, 11 Parliament Square, Edinburgh EH1 1RQ.
What we don’t do
Please note it is not part of our role to investigate complaints about solicitors or government departments or to give legal advice to individuals. You should contact the Law Society of Scotland or a solicitor for help with these areas. Alternatively, a Citizens Advice Bureau may be able to offer initial guidance.
E-bulletins
We produce a twice-yearly e-bulletin giving details of progress with current projects. If you would like to be added to our e-bulletin emailing list please email us at info@scotlawcom.gov.uk.
News releases
If you would like to receive news releases relating to new developments at the Commission please email us at info@scotlawcom.gov.uk.
